Mats

Chopped glass mat is a textile fabric consisting of isotropically arranged chopped glass fibers that are bonded together using different types of bonding.
Our chopped glass mats are used in a wide variety of areas, from manual lamination in the production of swimming pools to fully automated processing into panels for the automotive industry.
Our aim is to supply a mat type that is tailored to your process. The interplay of thread count, weave type and cut length results in mat designs of the highest quality for your individual applications.
Oschatz-Glas’ know-how includes special thread coatings that have a significant influence on the processing properties and mechanical characteristics of the composite materials. These are continuously developed on the basis of decades of application experience.
As the customer, you determine the ideal dimensions for your process in terms of roll length and width, basis weight and edge design.

Sewn mats

The stitched mat – a mechanically bonded mat – is bonded (stitched) with a knitted thread (preferably polyester thread). Due to the absence of a binder, these mats are used in thermoset applications, e.g. with unsaturated polyester, epoxy and vinyl ester resins, as well as in thermoplastic applications.
